Chargers to Host Tryouts for a New Punter

In a desperate attempt at winning, the San Diego Chargers are hosting an open tryout Thursday, October 13th, at Qualcomm Stadium.  After expectations of current punter, Drew Kaser, have dropped to a meager 17 yards/kick, the Chargers have decided to host open tryouts for anyone that can kick a football further than 17 yards, catch a snap, and hold the football for someone else to kick a field goal.  The Chargers are willing to hire the best person for the job following the conclusion of tryouts.  The new player will be paid the league minimum, equivalent to the current punter’s salary of $435,000/year.  Struggling to secure a win during the last few games, the Chargers view the punter situation as something that can be resolved quickly.  Head coach, Mike McCoy, is optimistic that a qualified replacement will be found.
