Time Warner to Stop Cable Services and Offer Hulu and Netflix Instead

Yesterday in a New York press release, Time Warner announced it was permanently discontinuing its cable services in favor of offering Netflix and Hulu. The decision was finalized after conducting tests on 100s of focus groups who were shown Time Warner’s cable channels in 4K ultra HD on 50″ TVs and Netflix or Hulu on a 6″ tablet with 240p quality. Ninety-five percent of people opted for or felt comfortable with watching video streaming sites instead of the cable channels. That number did not deviate even when they were shown HBO or shows with full-frontal nudity on the cable network.

We spoke to a top executive for more insight. He stated, “For years, we have been tirelessly working to give minimum services at maximum prices to our subscribers. We also make them watch the wrong stuff at the wrong time. So, to patch things up, we are providing our customers with what they want.”

Time Warner subscribers will be charged the full subscription amount of $79.99 to obtain the services of Hulu and Netflix, but no one is complaining. Said one subscriber, “I used to pay for the top premium package, and I would keep the TV on while watching Hulu or Netflix on my iPad. So, I will be saving $20.”

Time Warner will also offer streaming and downloading from torrent sites as a substitute for HBO, as much of its contents airs there earlier.
