Armed Stoner Robs Taco Bell, Leaves Gun

tacobell2Marijuana advocates will have a hard time explaining this one. Just this Tuesday, an armed 19-year-old Carl Lewis walked into the Taco Bell near his house and demanded a bite of the new Quesalupa, as well as a soft taco and large Baja Mountain Dew. The employees brought the order promptly, to avoid exacerbating the situation, and placed it on the counter before ducking behind it.

Lewis then dropped the weapon onto the counter and reached into his back pocket. The clerk thought Lewis was about to reveal another weapon, so he fell to the floor and curled into a ball. Then he heard Lewis ask for some assistance. “You guys take debit?” Lewis was trying to swipe his card to pay for the meal, and the employee noticed his eyes were red and droopy. Concluding that Lewis was no longer a threat, he took the card, swiped it, and handed it back to Lewis. Before turning to leave with his order, Lewis left behind a fairly generous tip of $5.

Lewis walked back into the establishment one last time, using the taco to threaten the employee if he ever told anyone about the robbery. Immediately after he fled the scene, Lewis was arrested when he walked into a police station claiming that he needed a ride back to the Taco Bell so that he could pick up his gun and get more Verde sauce.
