NFL and CBS to Fine Peyton Manning Over Subliminal Advertising

Have you ever wondered why Peyton Manning yells “OMAHA!” over and over again during all his plays? It has been revealed that Manning was secretly endorsing the meat company, Omaha Steaks, through “subliminal advertising” during the entire football season in exchange for money and gift baskets. Subliminal ads are defined as “ads that contain messages that, supposedly, bypass our conscious minds and enter the brain through the unconscious back door.” In 1958, the National Association of Broadcasters, along with the Federal Trade Commission, banned the use of subliminal advertising in United States as it is considered “deceptive and therefore illegal” (https://www.truthinadvertising.org/the-subliminal-ad/).

So, if you also wondered what the Denver Broncos ate to stay in shape, they have been eating delicious meats and seafood: steaks (rib eye, T-bone, prime rib), poultry, pork, burgers, salmon, shrimp, etc. You name it, they were scarfing it.

Now that the NFL and CBS have discovered this transgression, they intend on fining Manning $25 million dollars for each occurrence. They found this fine to be fair based on Manning’s compensation over the last few seasons for this illegal act.

Manning will most likely spend all of his Super Bowl money to repay these fines, as well as pawn his two rings. The silver lining of this unfortunate situation is that it will likely bring a smile to Eli Manning’s face and establish him as the favorite overachiever of the Manning family.
